I tried and I tried to like this.
I gave the product(s) not only one but two chances.
Toms Aluminum Free Deodorants:
I originally bought the unscented version and tried that for about 2 weeks and I would still smell icky ness.
It claims to have 24 hour odor protection, natural, clinically proven and long lasting.
I would claim not.
I then tried a scented one in Fresh Apricot, thinking well maybe it's just the unscented version that doesn't work well for me...
That was a waste, too.
(Even with my $1.50 off coupon!)
Sadly, these deodorants are just not for me.
Have you tried these?
Am I doing something wrong?!

It's here!!!
Maybe even more exciting than makeup is my new planner... maaaybe.
It's a tie for me; as much as I love beauty and makeup, I thoroughly enjoy stationery, organization and the like.
I finally received my erin condren life planner, after feeling like it was literally taking forever, it arrived on my door step pretty package and all.
This was my first erin condren planner. I was on the hunt for my perfect planner for the upcoming 2013-2014 school year. I needed enough this, enough that, the right font, the perfect amount of spacing between days, the correct color combination, it goes on and on.
This every year is an issue for me. I end up buying random little $10 planners because I'm thinking it's "the perfect one" but they never really are, are they? ;)
I did my research after stumbling upon a blog that showcased her EC planner and fell in love with that I saw. These planners are pretty pricey but after I thought about for a couple of days (hey, its a lot for an impulse buyer like me), I took the plunge and bought it & couldn't be any happier today.
Erin seems to have done her research too, she seemingly found every little "what about..." between every nook and cranny to create this beautiful concept.
This is srs planner business, y'all
Quality, quality, quality.

I choose the floral pattern with my first and last name. Basic & simple.
There are so many themes to choose from and so many things you could customize.
Love.
Monthly view.
I've only filled in payments and birthdays so far.
Washi Tape, from this store on Etsy, says (Tax Free Weekend) because
I'm planning on buying new gym shoes :)

Don't Be a Show Off!
Finally got my hands on a few of the new Rimmel Show Off Lip Laquers.
These have been raaaaaaved on and on about.
I picked up three shades of these new lippies at my local Walgreens.
Nude Eclipse, a basic nude which didn't give me mannequin lips.
Luna, a pretty coral
Aurora, a raspberry shade of pink.
The texture of these babies are to die for. I love the total creaminess of them.
Comparable to the NYX Butter Glosses- these have more pigmentation and more opaque coverage, harder to rub off.
I wish they were more like a stain or lipstick so they would stay on longer but for a normal lip gloss type of product, it stayed on my lips pretty long before I had to reapply.
I like how they have a nice sheen to them but not like cheap-o Lip Smackers glosses used to when we were younger. I'm personally not a fan of that glossy look so these work well for me but hey whatever floats your boat.
They smell like yummy watermelon (or something???) goodness...
Planning on picking up more of these because um, hi my name is Ruby & I hoard makeup products.

Summer = Dry Skin. What?
My skin is funky. That strange kind of funky- like "hey skin cells, what the eff are y'all up to???" kind of funky.
But it seems to be particularly dry in the summer. Weird right?!
When everyone else is needing hand cream and extra moisturizing lotions in the harsh Texas winter (ha), my skin seems to need it SO MUCH MORE in the middle of this scorching summer.
I have a slight case of self internet diagnosed psoriasis.
Slight may be an understatement but it's just something I've learned to deal with.
So with that said- my skin is on the drier side of the spectrum. I always need moisture and my skin seems to HATE that.
I've tried lots of different creams and lotions and serums but nothing has seemed to tame the dryness for the long run.
Products I love
My current favorites include CeraVe foaming facial cleanser for Normal to Oily Skinwhich I use usually at night to remove makeup and to just clean things up. I follow up with a moisterizer -Currently "in experiment" so none to list ;) It has a logo on the back that says it is accepted from the National Eczema Association, so that counts for something right?
On a, 3x- a- day- minimum, regular basis I love my Lush Eau Roma Water. I've been skeptical of Lush (cause I mean really, sometimes it just seems way too... sparkly unicorns and false pretenses, no?).
I've tried a lot of their products but this is the one that's actually stuck around on my vanity through and through. It's labeled as a toner water.
I use it before my makeup application, after makeup application, and throughout the day, if I remember to bring it with me, to freshen my skin.
Your skin needs lots o' love and I'm learning mine needs a whoooole lot of it.
More products "I love" later...
I'm always looking to try new products and get this skin moisturized!

Where lipstick meets me...
Welcome to the Texas heat, you've made it!
I just wanted a place to have a creative outlet for my passion for the interesting things in life...
.
- I'm a polka dot connoisseur; whatever it may be, if it works then it works! I just seem to gravitate to these suckers.
- I advocate for lots & lots of shopping. What's cures any problem more than retail therapy? Well, actually.......shut up. Shopping is the answer :)
- Always remember to never let anyone ever dull your sparkle.
I'm all about embracing yourself and just loving yourself in the best possible way.
Let's roll,
-Ruby
